Tolls for Vessels Using the Panama Canal:

The following rates of tolls shall be paid by vessels using the Panama Canal:

 
    6/1/98 On merchant vessels, yachts, army and navy transports, colliers, hospital ships, and supply ships per PC/UMS Net Ton, that is, the net tonnage as determined in accordance with the Rules for the Measurement of Vessels for the Panama Canal:  
1010.0010   1/1/98 When carrying passengers or cargo $2.57
1010.0020   1/1/98 On vessels in ballast without passengers or cargo 2.04
1010.0030   1/1/98 On other floating craft including warships, dredges, and floating dry-docks, per ton of displacement 1.43
    6/1/98 Small vessels up to 583 PC/UMS net tons when carrying passengers or cargo, or up to 735 PC/UMS net tons when in ballast, shall be assessed minimum toll based upon their length overall, according to the following table:  
1010.0050   6/1/98 Up to 15.24 meters (50 feet) $500.00
1010.0060   6/1/98 More than 15.24 meters (50 feet) up to 24.38 meters (80 feet) 750.00

Tolls for Vessels Making Partial Transit and Return
Vessels passing through the locks at either end of the Panama Canal and returning to the original point of entry without passing through the locks at the other end of the Canal shall pay tolls prescribed for a single passage through the Canal.

Note: Arrangements for the payment of tolls may be made with the Collection Bank designated by the Panama Canal Authority.
