SYNOPSIS:
Everyone knows the feeling. You come home and find your home broken into. Your possessions thrown around. Dresser drawers ransacked. Everything you own has the unmistakable feel of a stranger's fingers on them. The only thing worse than that is what isn't there: the things that once belonged to you that have been taken by creeps.

But now is not the time to despair. There's no time for anger. There's only time to call Ban and Ginji, the Get Backers! No one will be refused – at least not until that huge bar tab they've run up gets paid off!
These guys will restore order where there is only chaos and justice where crime has run free. They are the dudes who will bring that cute stuffed animal back to its rightful owner. They're the Get Backers, and they're only one phone call away and ready to take your case!

Contains episodes 26-49 on 5 DVD discs.

REVIEW:
The ultimate buddy anime is back. You’d think things would be sweet for Ban and Ginji after their big win at the Limitless Fortress but nope, they’re back to being broke and scrambling for jobs. And the jobs haven’t gotten any easier! Crazier antics, crazier hotties and what the heck is up with that freaky Akabane dude! He seems to have been either wanting a duel to the death with Ginji or maybe to kiss him! But now it looks like he’s turned his obsession to Ban.

It’s the same two loveable guys going about their wacky get backer business. This second and final season is a bit different than the first. It has a lot more stand alone episodes that focus on the secondary characters; many carry over from the Limitless Fortress multi-episode story arc from last season. So you’ll get to see more of the poisoned perfumed princess Himiko, yaoi love couple Juubei and Kazuki, Shido and his cute blind girlfriend, even Makubex makes an appearance. And again, there’s the return of freak-dude Akabane. The stand alone stuff is great and as enjoyable as the longer story arcs because these give us a chance to learn about the growing group of the Get Backers gang. There’s a Natsumi episode (remember that cute girl from the first episode of season 1 who ended up being a waitress at the Honky Tonk?), and, wait for it, there’s a Hevn episode. Lovely, luscious Hevn. And man, was it a shocker to find out about her past!

Don’t worry though. If you’re a die hard for those multi-episode arcs, there are two big ones in this box set. The first has the return of Clayface and the Get Backers sent off on a cruise to retrieve the arms of the Venus de Milo. It has drug runners, a lovelorn painter and a devious and deadly woman plus a host of new martial arts villains for the good guys to trounce. The second and last story arc spans the final discs of the show. It has everyone returning to the Limitless Fortress for an all out fight to save the Fortress itself!

The show is as fun as ever. The back stories and stand alones were great for fans of the show like me. The end was cool, leaving things open enough for more if it happens down the road, while giving enough satisfaction to leave me happy. The one episode I enjoyed the most if I had to choose one, has got to be the one where Ginji ends up in the hospital. It sounds all bad right? Dude in the hospital laid up. But instead the show kicks into high gear with their funniest episode ever as all hell breaks loose when everyone (and I mean everyone!) comes to visit the guy.

EXTRAS:
ADV previews are the only extra feature. Such is the way of the ADV thinpaks.
