"Let me think. Falling in love is finding someone worth risking your life for and that's the best you get on short notice!"

Set well into the future, the people of the house of Capulet are being slaughtered one by one and only Juliet survives, taken away into the night and  away from the devastation. Years later a certain Romeo Montague helps a lady get away from a wrongful trial, and his friend unwittingly aides the Red Whirlwind, a masked avenger and freer of the innocent who risks life and limb every day. He is known by that name and others fear him, but those who know him as Odin know full well he is actually a she.

Juliet meanwhile arrives at the ball in disguise but without her chaperone by accident and does not realise until she gets there that the place is her former home  which has been taken over by the evil Montague family, their deadly rivals. It is only fate that she meets one other rival, the heir to the Montague family, their son Romeo.

A great deal happens as the first episode establishes the characters, plot and the general storyline. Based on William Shakespeare's esteemed play this has all the elements of a first rate anime series. Romance, humour, futuristic aspects, and unusual characters viewers will love from the introduction in the series, though a certain Will who oversees the plays to make sure they are acted well on stage bears a striking resemblence to someone everyone knows.
He is one with which a disguised Juliet spends her time, the other additions to the theme are flying horses and handsome bishonen males that will be a pleasing sight for many fans to enjoy.

Romeo unfortunately is soon to marry and the choice of woman is not his own to have, he doesn't know her and hasn't met anyone who can light the fire in his heart. In Neo Verona the Montagues have destroyed the place where everyone lives, inspiring cruelty and evil on the very streets they once called their own. Maidens stolen from houses for the nobles' indulgences are soon stopped by the masterful Odin masked to free those from their awful bonds.

There is a high production value with this anime and though it is loosely based on Shakespeare's famous work it doesn't lose the romantic meaning in it.
