Ailing Celine Dion forced to postpone United Center show
Illness has forced Celine Dion to cancel her concert Tuesday at the United Center, tour promoter AEG Live announced Saturday.
The concert has been rescheduled for Dec. 16. Tickets bought for the Tuesday show will be honored for the new date. Fans unable to attend the rescheduled show can obtain refunds at point of purchase.
Dion has been battling a nasal infection for the past week and was instructed by her doctor to refrain from singing for the next few days. She is scheduled to resume her tour Friday in Ottawa.

I am really upset with this cancelling, I understand that we get sick, but I was so looking forward to seeing Celine, on Nov, 4, This is the second time that this has happened to me, the first one was in Sept, 2004, my daughter was giving me a birthday present, of taking me to Las Vegas, and specifically to see Celine, and nothing else, hours before Celine's show was to start it was canceled, I understood then, and I'm trying to understand now, I am just so disappointed, that this has happened to me again, this close from seeing Celine, I will get ot see Celine one day, I pray that it will be Dec, 16.

As of Sunday pm neither the United Center web site, Ticketmaster website or Celine Web cite
reported this cancellation. Ticketmaster Customer Service wasn't even aware of the Chicago cancellation. You would think that
AEG Live would inform their fans/customers by all means possible rather than just the newspaper. put it on the web...it is how most of us bought our tickets!

Gee do you think it is because of the Obama gala at Grant Park, possibly drawing 1,000,000.000 people

So you don't think that the lead was buried and she actually cancelled the show because the real show is at Grant Park? Just a thought from a West Looper who knows where all of the focus will be on Tuesday...Sounds like something similiar in the Detroit Janet Jackson show where she didn't do her simulated sex routine in front of that audience because the officicals told her not to. She apologized to her 8k fans that showed up to a 20k seat venue. So she also didn't call the Detroit police to ask them if it was OK to do her routine? Oh sorry, I am be to real for this writer.

Tuesday's concert in Chicago is not yet canceled, no body has confirmed a mere rumor Chicago Sun Times ...
Celine Dion was found Sunday evening in Montreal at Gala ADISQ Felix Tribute where he was awarded

How many times does Dion cancel concerts?
This is a regular thing with her.

We, too, were in Las Vegas for her show to celebrate our anniversary and she cancelled; we were finally able to see her several months later, but going to Vegas is expensive. Ticketmaster should notify customers via email (which is how most tickets were purchased) if there is a cancellation. This is poor salesmanship on their part; they should know what's going on.

I wholeheartedly agree with Donna, there is absolutely no mention of the Celine Dion concert being canceled! How disrespectful to her loyal fans, who like myself paid massive amounts of money (2 of my house payments) to see her! celinedion.com , Ticketmaster, and the United Center websites don't mention anything of Celine's cancelation! It was suppose to be my birthday present, I am so disappointed as I LOVE Celine! I'm disabled with Cerebral Palsy and to raise the money for tickets was hard, not to mention hotel reservations, so why aren't her fans respcted enough to get this bad news? I feel horrible for fans who will end up driving hours to the United Center in Chicago to find out there is no concert. We are 3 hours away and only found out because we have a friend in Chicago that informed us, very disappointing!

I'll bet Dion's postpoing her concert has less to do with her "sinus infection" and more to do with Obama's victory rally in Chicago's Grant Park. I even have a suspicion Oprah may have put in a call to her gal-pal Celine persuading her to put her concert off because Chicago's finest will have their hands full with the crowds at Grant Park and/or riots if Obama loses.

Celine's website is updated now... It is official. Her show in Chicago is cancelled and rescheduled for Dec 16th.
I think this have everything to do with the Obama rally. We were thinking something like this was going to happen.

Dissappointing it is, but kind of glad it is postponed with the "Big Event" taking place in Grant Park. I don't doubt that the change in plans had everything to do with the fact that it is election night and crazy things can happen in Chicago....after all we are the murder capital of the world.

Hello everyone~
It's a sure bummer about the concert. I was scheduled to see her at the Target Center in Minneapolis and she was sick and cancelled as well so I do not think she is faking. I hope to see her Feb 5th.

we bought tickets a year ago for this concert and had people flying in. we did not find out till 2:00 on 11/3 and that was by chance. it was a piece of cake to change the airfare at no cost but we are getting gouged for a 286.00 room because we were not notified in time by ticketmaster or the united center. I do believe she is ill or would not have cancelled in Minneapolis and blame ticketmaster and the united center for not notifying their ticket holders far enough in advance. the notice on the united center web site is dated 11/1 which had we been notified would have gotten us a full refund.

C'mon....who are we kidding???
Had close friend in politics in Chicago and the politicians run EVERYTHING!
They most likely said you WILL change your concert schedule Celine to accomodate Sir Obama!
I don't think any of us would want to be in the mess they are creating down there anyway BUT how disappointing for all of us Celine fans!!
We've have had tickets for months and months....what a shame.

I just returned from Chicago late last night - 7hr train trip from ontario, canada. Like most of you, I had tickets for almost a year. Didnt know about the cancellation of her concert until we booked into the motel on monday ... we were upset about it, obviously. There has to be a better way of notifying but it wouldnt have helped in my case as I bought the tickets on eBay and can only hope for a refund from the seller (even if only the face value) as I wont be in the country on the re-scheduled date. However, we did see the broadway show 'WICKED' and it certainly made up for it. Awesome musical. And I tend to agree with most of the postings, that she didnt want to compete with the other affair going on in chicago that night (I'm happy Barack won - this vote will affect this country as well).. also heard she didnt have a sold out venue .. and maybe she was pouting.

I agree that the focus was on the Obama Rally at Grant Park. Plus does anyone miss the head splitting crooning of this Canadian wonder? My heart will not go on!

Hi again~
When Celine cancelled in Minneapolis ticketmaster did send out an e-mail. They have not sent an e-mail yet that the concert was reschduled for Dec 18th and not Feb. 5th at the TARGET CENTER. I found out on Celine's website. I hope ticketmaster gets their act together.

Just arrived back to NYC from Chicago.............9 hours there and nine back!! Very disappointed. My sister's anniversary was Nov 4th and this was her present. Ticketnow refuses to refund the money for the tickets. We simply cannot attend the rescheduled show. We would all be in the Caribbean.

Celine does have a great voice, but just from my own personal observation, I do think that she tends to be a little overrated.

I just returned home from Indy where Celine has yet again cancelled. I drove four hours to INdy (and then back 20 minutes later) and found out from the front desk at my hotel that the show tonight was not going to happen.....they (the hotel folks) had been hearing rumors that she is pregnant again. Who knows? If she is, AWESOME, but come on, why do we as fans and holders of expensive tickets, always seem to be among the last to find these cancellations out??!! Get real folks (promoters in particular!!!geez!)

trust me on this one, obama had nothing to do with celines concert. She cancelled minny, Chicago and Indy. She played Canada in between but hey, you gotta do what you can for your home country. A major artist has to wait until the day of the show to cancel. It's an insurance/contractual thing. Sources tell me next show is Omaha.

Just drove back 3 hours from INDY. Went down to the concert and found out it was canceled. Tickmaster has had our money for 1 year. We paid the $15.00 service fee per ticket. You would think they could call us, e-mail us to let us know. That's the last time I will use ticketmaster and try to see Celine. Never again. Too many cancellations. I have a friend in Vegas and she tells me Celine cancels all the time. I will never purchase a CD of hers again or give her the time of day. Not that she should care, but makes me feel better.

Wow....I'm glad I just stumbled on this info about the cancelled concerts! I am in St. Louis...next up on the tour schedule (Nov. 11). I was trying to find where to sell 2 extra tickets, and almost accidentally saw a reference to this article on the search page. Reading the post from "cd" it sounds like it will be Tuesday before I know for sure if I will have no plans on that much anticipated night! How reliable is your info that Omaha (Nov. 17) is the likely next show? Thank you for your insights!
As much as I'm disappointed, I am grateful to know that I need to anticipate a no show. Even when you live in the venue city, you often wouldn't have a clue about a cancellation, and get all the way to the parking lot before you know anything! Double bummer for me....I was just in Vegas in September, all excited to have a great seat to see Cher, and when I approched the doors to the theater I was given a paper full of options for the cancelled show (none of which worked for me as I would be back home here in St. Louis where it
looks like the same thing is about to happen again!) A votre sante, Celine!

I just drove 3 hr each way to find that the concert was rescheduled to Dec. 21. My family and I had just arrived in Indy when I got the call from Ticket Master. After having the tickets for just shy of a year and paying for customer service fee's, I feel TM should owe me the gas money for my wasted trip both ways. Good thing is fuel costs are lower!
