BEIJING, Feb. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Canadian pop diva Celine Dion will perform a new song, "I Knew I Loved You," at this year's Academy Awards during a tribute to Italian legendary composer Ennio Morricone, media reported Thursday.

Morricone will be receiving an honorary Oscar at the Feb. 25 ceremony for lifetime achievement.

Lyrics have been written especially for Dion's performance of Morricone's score from "Once Upon A Time In America."

Morricone, 78, has received original score Oscar nominations for "Days of Heaven," "The Mission," "The Untouchables," "Bugsy" and "Malena."

The song may be included in Morricone's upcoming greatest-hit album and Dion's upcoming English-language record.
