In less than a month since its release Linkin Park's latest album, Minutes to Midnight, has achieved Platinum sales status (i.e. it has sold in excess of 1 million copies).
As of today, June 20th, 2007, Minutes to Midnight has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales exceeding 1 million copies in the U.S. in just 4 weeks.
As for other stats related to the album, it debuted at #1 and sold 623,996 copies in its first week alone, making it the highest debut album of the year.
Additionally, Minutes to Midnight has shipped over 3.3 million copies worldwide, plus the album has reached the #1 slot in 32 countries and has been certified platinum in 16 countries to date.
