Céline's Show Opens Tonight!
March 25, 2003

CÉLINE DION'S ALL NEW THEATRICAL SPECTACLE
OPENS TONIGHT!

"Let us give birth to a fragile or suspended moment in time,
during which we can touch the very soul of the world."

- Franco Dragone

Céline Dion's all new show, A NEW DAY..., opens tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The show, an unprecedented combination of performance, passion and theatrical innovation, is created by DRAGONE, produced by Concerts West, an AEG Live company, and presented by Chrysler.

"Our goal with this project is to create a unique spectacle of song, theatre, dance and state-of-the-art technology," said Franco Dragone. "I see Céline as a satellite who captures images. She will use the stage to create her own universe and share it intimately with the audience. A NEW DAY... will show Céline's immense talent in a new art form. We hope to heighten and intensify the senses so that each spectator leaves the show seeing more than they did the day before."

Céline is thrilled with the opportunity to bring her music to a major theatrical production. "This show marks a turning point in my professional journey," she said. "It will guide me to self-discovery, to push the limits of performance and offer a new stage experience to my devoted fans."

A NEW DAY... will transport the audience to a unique world; each song will evoke a different visual experience. The show features the largest indoor LED screen in North America which creates an extraordinary illusion of depth and transcends the usual physical limitations of the stage. The fusion of eclectic movement, an intimate yet immense set, the subtle beauty of the costumes, dramatic lighting and spectacular surround sound work together to create a public place, an environment of energy and space, of everyday life. The music is not merely played, but lived.

Franco Dragone has united a team of diverse, highly-skilled designers for the creation of A NEW DAY... including choreographer Mia Michaels, lighting designer Yves Aucoin, associate director Pavel Brun, set designer and image creator Michel Crête, projection content designer Dirk Decloedt, musical director Claude (Mégo) Lemay, costume designer Dominique Lemieux and sound designer Denis Savage.

Céline is joined on stage by a cast of 48 dancers. The artists have mastered stunning choreographies but have also endured the challenges of physical and aerial training through intensive workshops in Belgium and in Las Vegas. The elite international cast was selected from among thousands at auditions in Montreal, London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and La Louvière, Belgium.

The musicians and background vocalists - most of whom have been touring with Céline for nearly a decade - perform percussions, accordion, flute, cello, bass, drums, piano and guitar. Céline's longtime musical director, Claude Mégo Lemay, plays keyboards. The music ranges from classic Céline ("My Heart Will Go On", "Power Of Love") to beautifully-arranged standards ("The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "At Last"), to her latest hits ("I Drove All Night"). To date, Céline has sold over 155 million albums worldwide, making her the biggest selling female artist of all time.

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was built by Caesars' parent company, Park Place Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: PPE), a leading owner and operator of world-class hotel-casino-resorts. A contemporary interpretation of one of antiquity's architectural wonders, the 4,000-seat entertainment and event venue has been specially created for A NEW DAY.... The Colosseum will feature a vast performance space and a feel that is at once roomy and intimate.

Park Place is building the $95 million Colosseum as the centerpiece of a new construction program at Caesars Palace that includes refurbished room product, new restaurants and entertainmnent venues, and a new Roman-themed facades on all the hotels four towers.

"A NEW DAY... and The Colosseum will permanently change the lanscape of the entertainmnent business," said Park Place President and CEO Wallace R. Barr. "Working with the most talented partners in the industry, we're bringing Las Vegas a show that is unique - a spectacular theatrical production that happens to feature a non-stop performance by the most popular female vocal artist in the world. No one has ever seen anything like it."

Based in Los Angeles, Concerts West is one of the world's largest producers and promoters of live music events and tours. Run by veteran tour promoters John Meglen and Paul Gongaware, the company's primary focus is indoor arenas and theaters, which allows for an extension of artists' tours and increased revenue by eliminating seasonality. Concerts West has promoted tours for everyone from Neil Diamond to Britney Spears, Eagles, Barry Manilow, Dixie Chicks and Yanni, to name just a few. Concerts West is an AEG Live company
