Joe Lynn Turner live with Over The Rainbow

Tony Carey has left the Rainbow tribute act Over The Rainbow which will disappoint a lot of people interested to hear him live again. There has been a press statement onwww.melodicrock.com : "Carey wishes to make it clear that there were no personality issues or clashes involving any other members. Carey is and was dissatisfied with the management, and feels that too many errors were made; unfortunately, the management came with the package, being Joe Lynn Turner's people, and took over from the beginning. 'I wish the lads all the success in the world', says Carey." Only David Stone can save them now!

Joe Lynn Turner has announced the release for the second SUNSTORM album, House of Dreams, due out late April 2009. The first SUNSTORM album came out in 2006, and saw JLT blow the dust off a number of strong AOR songs. This follow up works along very similar lines, sticking very much to the melodic rock genre.

Former Rainbow musicians Joe Lynn Turner, Tony Carey, Bobby Rondinelli and Greg Smith have teamed up with Blackmore's lad Jurgen to form a new tribute band Over The Rainbow, and are due to begin touring in Russia in early 2009 (see dates above). Although it was known that something of this nature was on the cards, it is still quite a surprise to learn who the guitarist is. It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

JLT and Yngwie each did separate sets then finished the night off by getting together to jam a couple of Deep Purple songs and selections from Malmsteen's 1989 'Odyssey' album.

Joe Lynn Turner Sunstorm *updated 28.09.06*
Joe Lynn Turner - Sunstorm album cover

Material written for a projected follow up to his "Rescue You" album on Elektra was issued in late September 2006 as "Sunstorm", on Frontiers Records. Joe has dusted off the demos, and is re-recording the material with a new crew for the album. It is now in stock at dpas mail order.

"Just viewed the press release about JLT's "Sunstorm" project. Having spoken with Joe about a week or so ago, I can tell you that only three songs from his unreleased follow up to "Rescue You" are on the Sunstorm Project. Everyone seems to be under the impression that all of the songs are going to be on Sunstorm (not true). Hope this helps. Frank Beltran."
