Little Junior's Blue Flames / Junior Parker

Born: Herman Parker, Jr -- March 3, 1927 - West Memphis, AR
Died: November 18, 1971 - Blue Island, IL

A member of "The Beale Streeters:" An ad-hoc group of loosely-knit Memphis musicians. The group formed during the late 1940s, early 1950s.

    Matt Murphy left Memphis in 1952 to join Memphis Slim's band, in Chicago, as lead guitarist. Later he played lead guitar for Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, and James Cotton bands. He is known for his role in the Blues Brothers Band. He was replaced in Little Junior's Blue Flames in 1952, by his brother, Floyd Murphy.
