International superstar Celine Dion dominates the charts with a number 1 debut

    FRENCH LANGUAGE ALBUM D'ELLES CLAIMS THE HIGHEST SOUNDSCAN DEBUT OF THE
    YEAR AND IS CERTIFIED 2X PLATINUM IN CANADA

    TORONTO, May 30 /CNW/ - International Superstar Celine Dion crowned the
Neilsen SoundScan sales chart record for 2007 with over 72,000 copies sold of
D'elles across Canada. D'elles has secured the highest SoundScan entry of the
year surpassing first-week sales by any other artist. Overwhelming media and
consumer support has skyrocketed D'elles to the number 1 position on the sales
chart in Canada, France, Belgium and Switzerland. In Canada, the album has
been certified 2x Platinum and has already shipped half a million units
worldwide.
    In Quebec, Celine dominates the Regional chart with D'elles claiming the
top spot and continues to break records with five of her previous albums
currently charting in SoundScan's Top 200. On May 21 2007, more than
1.5 million people tuned in to the TVA network for a 2-hour special about
D'elles for an outstanding 82% share of the audience.
    During her spectacular career Celine Dion has sold a combined total of
over 185 million albums making her the biggest selling female artist of all
time, as presented at the 2004 World Music Awards. In Canada, eight of Celine
Dion's albums have entered the chart in the number 1 position, including
1997's Let's Talk About Love, which holds the record for the highest opening
week sales since the inception of the Neilsen SoundScan chart.
    'A New Day...' the five year, 700-show engagement at Caesars Palace in
Las Vegas, has been sold out every night since its premiere on March 25, 2003
and will close on December 15, 2007. Since its opening, 'A New Day.' has
attracted record crowds and continues to transport more than 4,000 audience
members each night to a unique world of performance, passion and theatrical
innovation, with Celine joined on stage by an elite international cast of
48 dancers. Over two-and-half million fans have experienced 'A New Day...' at
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace since its debut.
