Park News - (10/6/10) Franz Mack, the founder of Europa Park and Mack Rides, has passed away this week at the age of 89. You can read more about him and his life here.

(3/27/10) I’ve been sent a few notes from the press days at Europa-Park. In addition to the new Whale Adventure Splash Battle attraction the park has also expanded the monorail by 400 meters and added a new station. A new kiddie water playground area will open in Iceland this summer along with a new snack restaurant in Portugal and a new restaurant in Italy. The park’s “Chocoland” Pyramide is getting rethemed from now until Summer with a new exhibit called Historama showing off the 35 year history of Europa-Park. Later on this year construction will start on their next hotel, slated to open in 2012. You can find some incredible pictures taken at the media preview at the park posted to Freizeitpark.
2010 - Historama - (8/18/10) A nice press page has been created showing off all about Europa Park’s new Historama attraction, a showcase about the long history of the park and it’s attractions over the years. From the look of things, this appears to be Europa Park’s nod to Disney’s famous Carousel of Progress. The attraction uses a mix of animatronics, 27 digital video projectors, 9 lasers, some of which mix with fog effects to make a sort of 3-D floating Hologram effect. Add in a nice collection of 4D style theater effects to round out the mix.
2011 - New Attractions - Rumor - (12/9/10) I’m told that the Ciao Bambini is an existing kid friendly dark ride which will be revamped for the 2011 season. Another new attraction coming to Europa Park is said to be a Panoramic Pedal ride from ETF Group.
(12/3/10) A new more details about what Europa Park has planned can be found here. It talks about a new area full of magical encounters, an enchanted fairy forest, and something call Ciao Bambini, a “gondola ride” of a different kind.
(10/12/10) Preview posters now up at Europa Park claim that two new attractions will be added in 2011 as part of a revamping of the Italy section. Anyone know more?
???? - Future Expansion - Rumor - (12/8/09) I’ve been sent a rumor claiming that Europa-Park is eyeballing a site next to the Colloseo hotel for some kind of new expansion project. One rumor seemed to indicate that they might be looking at building a waterpark as well as a new hotel. Anyone know more?
