This film is incredible, but you may have to watch it twice. There are so many convolutions and revelations that it's mind-boggling. Though often graphic, Angel Heart can be subtle as well. It is steeped in mythological and biblical symbolism and imagery, and the recurring themes foreshadowing its shocking conclusion are ingenious.
