Narrative:
A Yakovlev 42 passenger plane was destroyed when it crashed about 2 km from the runway of Yaroslavl Airport (IAR), Russia. Forty-four people were killed and one is in serious condition. The wreckage came to rest in the Volga River. The airplane carried members of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl ice hockey team.
The Interstate Aviation Committee reported that that RA-42433 was the plane involved in the accident. Aviation sources claim that RA-42434 was involved. The latter has indeed been confirmed as operating for YAK Service and photos from the accident scene match the colours of RA-42434.
