Rachel Carson has a multitude of programs that cater to a wide range of student abilities and special needs. The school houses a gifted and talented center and provides honor programs in the four core subject areas. Math offerings include Math 7, Math 8, Math 7 Honors, Algebra, Algebra 1 Honors, and Geometry Honors. Also offered are a wide variety of foreign languages for high school credit. Our school’s special education program includes a full continuum of services to meet the needs of all students.
Rachel Carson’s mantra quotes a popular saying by Roland Barth which states, “Let us constantly juxtapose the way things are with fresh visions of what they might become.” This proclamation is posted prominently in each classroom and office at the school to remind us that our job for improving Rachel Carson is never-ending. It also encourages the staff to take risks in a school that prides itself for its service to children, parents, and the community.
