EIF's Healthcare Initiative

The Entertainment Industry Foundation, along with the Motion Picture and Television Fund has joined AARP's Divided We Fail movement in order to keep national attention on the two domestic issues that worry Americans most: healthcare and financial security.

You've heard the statistic – 47 million Americans without health insurance. And more middle-class people file for personal bankruptcies in the U.S. because of healthcare related expenses not being covered properly by their insurance than for any other reason. That's why EIF and MPTF are leveraging the entertainment industry to draw attention to America's healthcare crisis and encourage people to take action.

Together we can do anything, but Divided We Fail.

Recruiting the Hollywood Radio and Television Society (HRTS) to join the collaboration, HRTS hosted a luncheon to discuss America's broken healthcare system, which featured HRTS President Chris Silbermann, MPTF foundation chair Jeffrey Katzenberg, and keynote speaker Sally Field. A panel discussion including Neal Baer, D.L. Hughley, Bill Lawrence, and John Wells was moderated by Leeza Gibbons, and explored ways Hollywood could help keep health care and financial security atop the nation's domestic agenda.
