Writing a Status Message

You’re either available or busy, but sometimes you want to tell your friends why you’re busy, or even let them know what else you’re doing while waiting for one of them to send you an instant message. You can do that by writing a status message.

Note: Pingbox™ visitors will only see that you are Available, Busy, or Offline, They can’t see your status message.

Here’s How

  1. Type a status message in the box below your name, then press the Enter key on your keyboard or click outside the box.

Type a status message in the box below your name.

Tip: Your status message reflects your availability, so be sure you have the correct option (Busy or Available) selected from the availability menu (remind me how).

Your message appears below your name in your Messenger window and, more importantly, by your name on your friends’ lists.

Your friends see your message on their lists.
