'The Simpsons': Coldplay's Chris Martin, Sarah Silverman among season 21 guests

Categories: The Simpsons

The Simpsons has added more celebrity guest voices to season 21: EW.com has learned that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will lend his vocal cords to an episode this winter in which Homer wins a million-dollar lottery and hires the band to play a concert just for Bart and him. “When Bart goes to the bathroom, Coldplay has to stop,” notes Simpsons exec producer Al Jean. In another episode, Sarah Silverman plays Bart’s new girlfriend, who “alternately loves him and hates him for no reason,” says Jean. Meanwhile, season 20 guest star Anne Hathaway returns, this time as a princess character that the producers of Krusty the Clown’s show bring onto the series in hopes that more young girls will tune in. (Even though she upstages Krusty, the two wind up as a couple.) Other guest voices this season include Seth Rogen (who penned the season premiere), Jonah Hill, Neve Campbell, Eartha Kitt (who recorded a part shortly before passing away last year), the Smothers Brothers, and the Manning brothers (Peyton, Eli, and Cooper). Season 21 debuts Sept. 27 on Fox.

The simpsons are still on the air?

Seriously though, they haven’t put out a good episode in like ten years. No way anything from the recent seasons can compare to episodes like homer goes to college, the one where he purposely puts on 61 pounds to go on disability. Where was I again, oh yeah, stay out of my booze.

Oh come on! The Simpsons still crack me up. I’ve been watching all 20 years. Sure the show changes over time. I still like it enough to DVR it.

There is nothing wrong with the Simpsons. I’ve loved the show since it first aired. My now 4 and 5 year old also love the Simpsons and have been watching the show since they were both born. Anyone who thinks that there is something wrong with the show “ The Simpsons” has something wrong with himself or herself really! As for the Family Guy that show I’m not crazy about. It’s not the show that I don’t like it’s the VOICES that I can’t stand they use.

I’d definitely watch Simpsons before the rest of the junk FOX puts on TV. Can’t wait for the new season!!!

Hopefully Chris will get to prove to the naysayers that he is funny, and not mopey. Looking forward to this, I’m a big Coldplay fan and I like The Simpsons.

    The Simpsons suck.

It was funny the first seven seasons, then it went down-hill.

Back then the show had good writing.
Sure Homer said stupid things, but they were funny in a smart way.

Now the entire show is about Homer saying incredibly stupid things every 10 seconds and the family going on outragesly dumb adventures and the plots are so far-fetched it’s not even the same show that started airing 20 years ago.

People who still find the Simpsons amusing have their heads too far up their own asses to notice that the shows stinks.
