Senior Staff Association Fetes Retired Members

The Senior Staff Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(SSA-K) has organised a send-off party for members of the Association who retired in the 2017/18 academic year. The event saw retirees with their families and executive members of the Association socialising in addition to being treated to good food and music.

Vice-Chancellor Commissions Trucks

Professor Kwasi Obiri Danso, the Vice Chancellor, together with some members of management of the University have inaugurated two trucks to service the university community. The vehicles are; an Aerial Truck and a Skip Loader which cost GH¢833,110.23 and GH¢1,109,627.63 respectively.

5.6 Million Euro Laboratory Equipment Inaugurated

The Management of the University together with Professor Mark Adom Asamoah, Provost of the College of Engineering (CoE) have inaugurated new laboratory equipment worth 5.6 million Euros at the CoE as part of efforts aimed at retooling four laboratories in the College.

Rapid, simple, inexpensive high-throughput antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) in natural product drug discovery and tackling antibiotic resistance in global infectious diseases.

Current evidence of increasing failure to antimicrobial therapy due to drug resistance may be leading us potentially into a post-antibiotic era, and thus threaten the advances made in medicine (Carlet et al., 2012). The worldwide surge in resistant bacteria and the paradoxical downward trend in the development of new antibiotics simultaneously have serious implications.
