Downtown Square, Jewell, Kansas Jewell is located on highway K-14 southeast of Mankato in Jewell County, [JW]. It's a small, pretty town organized around a town square and park. A stone and bronze marker in the square tells the story of Fort Jewell, a sod fort built to protect the citizens from an Indian raid.
