Today, there are 1,140 Moonbears in South Korea being farmed for their bile for medicinal purposes. In August 2010, a leading news channel exposed a video of a bear farm in Gyeonggi Province, extracting bile from the gallbladder of a live Moonbear. Soon after, a National Congressman tabled a bill, to consider putting a ban to bear farming in South Korea. However, the bill has not been passed. This is the first time in 30 years history that Moonbears have hope, for a different fate. BUT WE CANNOT DO THIS ALONE!
Our mission is: To Get the Parliament’s Bill Passed to End Bear Farming in South Korea By 2011.
