On Friday the 2nd the FCS handover party was held. The vice-president of the new board offered himself to host the party in his mansion. Overtaken the elevator inconvenient, the old board was introduced, as honorary guest, to a classic TBT (tacos, beer-pong and tequila) party and eventually the official handover ceremony took place. Good music and a lot of fun framed the night. The new board would like to thank the old one for its outstanding previous work.

Last week the annual table hockey tournament was held in Ritsalen/Chapman. The level of expertise amongst the participants was slightly unfair resulting sometimes in fragorous scores. Anyhow it has been an intense tournament culminating in top class semifinals and final matches. The next tournament will be held next year, hope to see you all there!

The FCS board rented the old sailing vessel Atlanctica, from the Swedish Cruising Association. The new students joined the FCS board along with other 5th year students for a day at sea. The trip started at 11 when Atlantica arrived at Lindholmen, steered by FCS own secretary Axel and with FCS second in command Fredrik as the Captain. Lunch was served, sails where hoisted and rain was defeated. The trip ended with dinner served by FCS stewart, Simen. A fun day, with a fun ending. FCS thanks everyone that joined, and wishes the new students welcome.

The board would like to thank you all for a nice and fun evening at the Julbord! We in the board had a good time, and by the smiles on your faces it seemed like you enjoyed yourself as well! Photos can be found in the photo gallery.

This year, NTHS Nordens Tekniska Hogskolors Skeppsbyggarekongress will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. 10 students from MPNAV will be representing Chalmers at this legendary event. This event will give the participants knowledge about the swedish maritime industry as well as socialise with with fellow naval students from other countries. We in FCS wish the delegates best of luck, and we are sure that they will make MPNAV and Chalmers Proud .

FCS would like to welcome all of you to a new semester and new year here at MPNAV! We hope that this year will be as pleasant and fun as last year.

The annual NTHS congress is not far away. This year it will be held in here in Gothenburg, and this years NTHS-comittee is and has been working tirelessly to make this the best NTHS yet. The NTHS congress is all about Nordic students in marine engineering and Naval Architecture getting to know each other and the industry in which they are to end up in. As a part of this, the official NTHS website, nths.se is up and full of information about the upcomming NTHS-week. Go take a look!

The FCS International party was held in Tågvagnen, with a lot of good and interesting food and drinks from around the world, a "country-quiz" and a lot of good atmosphere. The party was very much appreciated by all who attended and the evening went off almost without personal injuries.

The annual FCS Christmas party was held in 11:an on the 7th of December. With a lot of fun, good food and Swedish party traditions, the party was a total success.

The annual FCS hockey tornament was held in Ritsalen on the 5th of December. After many matches (and a few crawls under the table), we are happy to congratulate Fredrik Olsson as winner of the tournament. Also congratulations to the second place winner Gustav Moe and the third place winner Viktor Daun.

The FCS-board handover party was arranged on the 11th of November. Both the old board and the new board was well represented, and led to a successful handover from the old to the new FCS-board. The new FCS-board would like to thank the old board for its outstanding service.

The 2013 elections to the Board of FCS were held 9th October in Ritsalen. With all election results declared, ten members of the M.Sc. students were elected to the Board to begin their term for the 2013-14 school year. New FCS board members are: Lisa Kilsmark, Adam Pluto, Johanna Lennmalm, Christoffer K. H. Ahlström, Jennifer Ringsby, Niklas Blomgren, Daniel Karlsson, Ola Lindahl, Allen Mottaghi Jahromi and Ivar Jakobsen.
