Tornado damages 2 homes

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that 911 dispatchers received over 50 calls shortly before 9:00 a.m. Monday morning just before the touch down of a tornado on Connie Road located northwest of Crowley off Hwy 1120.
According to Sheriff Melancon, two homes sustained damaged from the tornado.
One homeowner escaped injury after the tornado removed the home from its foundation along with the carport, patio and a portion of the roof.
The second home sustained damage to a fence, broken windows, siding and lost a barn.
Sheriff Melancon said for the safety of Acadia Parish residents units were dispatched throughout the parish checking for possible damage where several trees were reported down.
