aMSN 0.97.2 released
August 3, 2008 @ 23:02:58

Hi everybody !
Even during holidays when you are all burning on the beach, aMSN developers keep up maintaining your preferred IM software !
That’s how you can today download a new bugfix release for aMSN 0.97 series : aMSN 0.97.2 ! This version fixes, along with some other bugs, the bug you could have experienced when sending OIMs.

aMSN 0.97.1 released!
June 30, 2008 @ 21:50:42

Hi,

In order to continually give a great experience to our users, we have decided to release our first ever bugfix release!
The aMSN version 0.97.1 is a release which contains only bug fixes from our last stable version 0.97, so this is, as of today, the most stable version we have ever done.

It is important for you to update, because this version also fixes a critical bug that prevents a lot of our users from connecting to the MSN network. This is caused by a recent change in the protocol from the MSN server which made aMSN unable to connect to the network... so if you are having such problems, please update!

You can read the full detailed changelog as well as release notes here.

For those who feel adventurous and want to stay up to date with the latest development version, please refer to our SVN Installation manual.

Enjoy!

PS : we just have discovered a bug in the 0.97.1 release. This version bugs when trying to send an offline message. For the moment, just do not use that feature, and aMSN should run fine. We are currently fixing it, and hope releasing a second bugfix in a week or two. If you found an other bug in that release, please tell us about it in the forums in order to get it fixed in next bugfix release. Thanks for your support.

aMSN Meeting at FOSDEM 2008
January 22, 2008 @ 08:22:57

Hi,

We would like to announce to everybody that the aMSN team will be meeting at the FOSDEM conference this year in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of February 2008.
This will be the first meeting of the aMSN team, so we're very excited to get together finally, after working together for so long without ever meeting or having the slightest idea of what everyone looks like.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite everybody who has the ability to attend the FOSDEM conference, or who will be in or around Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of February, to come and meet us, we will be delighted to meet our fans, hum.. I mean, users!
Apart from being able to see us face to face and talk to us (mainly bow before us and thank us for our fabulous work...), have a little fun, etc.. We will be handing out free t-shirts customized with the aMSN logo and a nice tag line (details below). So if you want one.. see you in Brussels!

T-Shirt details : The t-shirt's design is not yet decided, we would like to have a t-shirt with the aMSN's logo as well as "aMSN Messenger" written on it and something else, a tag line.. but we don't know what to write there yet..So if you have any idea, just post the ideas here so it can help us find something cool or funny to put on the t-shirt. The one who comes up with a nice catch phrase will be rewarded with one of the t-shirts sent directly to his house (or his school's lab, depending on how geek he is :p). You can also post your preferences on the color of the shirt or the printing (one color allowed for the printing and one for the 'background' color of the shirt)

At the same time, I'd like to tell you that we would love to give out free t-shirts to everyone who got involved in this great project and helped us make it what it is today. We're planning on shipping t-shirts to our forum's power users (don't start posting like crazy after reading this.. please!), translators, those who sent us patches, plugins and skins developers, etc...
