Friends helping friends, seeking solace wherever it can be found, making up for what was lost—this is what the story is really about. Not wallowing in tragedy, but showing how it can be overcome.

Although this sophomore installment, which is the basis for episodes 8-13 of the first anime series, is not quite as sharp and fresh as the original, it is nonetheless a solid effort which does everything necessary to hold the interest of those who fell in love with the first book.

While other retellings of Train Man focus on the social misfit trying to win over the beautiful woman, this one tilts the viewpoint so that young female readers can see the social misfit as a love interest as well.
