LOGISTICS

Within a radius of 300 km around Örebro, the urban centre of Business Region Örebro, there are six and half million inhabitants; the geographic location makes Örebro the demographic centre of Scandinavia. Just outside Örebro is the junction for Sweden’ busiest motorways, the E18, the E20 and Highway 50. Additionally, Sweden’ third largest freight airport is just a short distance from central Örebro; Örebro Airport also has a good passenger service including daily scheduled flights to Stockholm and Copenhagen. Business Region Örebro is also a unique location for rail transportation. Hallsberg is home to the Nordic region’ largest freight rail hub, including a fullload centre which allows for comprehensive contact with road transport companies.

All this makes Business Region Örebro an important and attractive meeting place for people, products and services. The foundations for this were laid as early as the 13th century when the region was developing into a trading centre. Today Business Region Örebro had developed into a logistical hub for the whole of Scandinavia, a clear choice for a meeting place in a dynamic Nordic communications and transportation network. Here, companies in logistics and transportation are in a strategic location for markets across Sweden and Scandinavia, able as well to offer quick and effective distribution to the European continent and the rest of the world. In an increasingly globalized

world there are higher demands for better communications between strong business regions, which is why Business Region Örebro will continue to be reliant on effective communications networks for its future development.
