Prolific striker who signed at the end of the 2005/06 season by former manager Chris Casper from York City. Andy came to Gigg Lane with a good pedigree from his days with the Minstermen and he quickly adapted to League Football as he continued with his goal scoring skills. Bish finished his first three seasons as the clubs leading scorer with 63 goals to his tally. Andy started his career with Walsall but never played for first team at the Bescot Stadium. Loaned out to Kidderminster Harriers, Rochdale and Yeovil over two seasons, Andy was eventually released from Walsall and signed for York. Another 34 goals came his way at the KitKat Stadium before Bury pounced for his signature.
Prolific in front of goal and something of a cult hero to Bury fans, though his last 18 months have been something of an injury nightmare. He picked up a serious knee injury towards the end of the 08/09 season and underwent surgery the day after a play off semi final defeat. He spent all summer getting fit, only to break down in a pre-season game with a serious Hernia and abductor problem. This injury forced him to miss most of the 09/10 season. Surgery was called for a further two occasions during the last campaign. He was out of action until early February and played the remainder of the season mostly from the bench. Andy is also the clubs third highest goal scorer in the FA Cup and will be keen to get back into the action ahead of the new season. Now in his sixth season at Gigg Lane, Andy spent another frustrating season on the treatment table and underwent another two operations on his knees in order to finally sort out his long term problems.
Now fully fit and raring to go, Andy has set his targets for the new season and looks forward to competition with Ryan Lowe in the race to claim the clubs leading scorer title.
