ICA Mission Statement"To create safer environments and improve the quality of life through the use of CPTED principles and strategies." The ICA offers its members access to a database of information, articles and tools that may be useful when approaching projects. What is CPTED?Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (pronounced sep-ted) is based on a theory that the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the incidence and fear of crime and an improvement in the quality of life. In other words, if a site is laid out well, the likelihood of it being targeted for a crime may be reduced. For more information, or to apply on-line for membership, click Through the ICA newsletter and website, members are brought up to date on the latest trends, success stories and solutions.
