ADFA Vikings Football Club

The ADFA Vikings Football Club is one of a kind! It first began in 1986 and since then has had a lot of support and success. 2006 was a big year for the club with three teams making it to the Grand Final and the Men's Firsts taking out the competition. The Firsts were State Premiers for their league and all teams put up a good fight for the entire season. Fighting hard and never missing an opportunity for a bit of fun, the games would always ensure entertainment. The Vikings enjoy numerous social occasions and show that the club's talent and spirit goes far beyond the soccer field.

Number of Teams

This year the Vikings Football Club received a great deal of support, consisting of approximately 130 members making up a total of six male teams, both social and competitive, and one female team.

Local Competition

The ADFA Vikings certainly made their mark, competing in Soccer Canberra Divisions 4-8, the Australian University Games recently held in Adelaide and Eastern Conference Games. Teams made themselves known, competing not only on their home turf at Addison Oval, but right across Canberra.

Yearly Events

The Vikings enjoy a wide variety of social events throughout the year. The 2006 calendar included a Wine-Tasting Cocktail Party, the annual Soccer Ball, an Academy-wide 6-a-side competition, and appearances at Open Day.
