Hudson County Executive

Recognized nationwide as one of the major transportation and industrial hubs in the Northeast, Hudson County is also known for its cultural diversity and friendly neighborhoods.

Located between the City of Newark and New York City, the most populated cities of both states, Hudson County is ideally situated for industry as well as commerce. It is estimated that one million persons per day pass through the County. Hudson, incidentally, is just 46 square miles, the smallest of all 21 New Jersey counties.

Major transportation arteries that service Hudson County are: New Jersey Turnpike, I-95, I-280, US Routes 1 & 9, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, and various inter-county connections via motor and rail, including Port Authority Trans Hudson, or PATH, which connects New York City with New Jersey. Hudson County is also within a short travel distance of Newark International Airport and Kennedy International and La Guardia Airports in New York.

Within Hudson's borders are trunk-like railroads, motor freight transport facilities, and deepwater shipping ports and dockside warehouses. These ports and warehouses play an important role in exporting and importing goods to and from world markets.
