BERNE – Two mistakes was all it took. An opportunistic Russia took advantage of Canadian errors and defeated Canada 2-1 to win gold for the second year in a row against its archrivals. Alexander Radulov scored the second-period winner.

BERNE – After having won the second consecutive World Championship with a 2-1 over Canada in the gold medal game in Berne, Russia also takes over first position in the 2009 IIHF World Ranking.

BERNE – It wasn't a “Miracle on Ice” for either team, but it was a medal for one of them. Sweden defeated the United States 4-2 to capture the bronze at PostFinance Arena on Sunday. Carl Gunnarsson scored the third-period winner.

BERNE – The IIHF, NHL, and NHLPA today announced that the Chicago Blackhawks will be the NHL representative in the second Victoria Cup to be played on September 29 at in Zurich against the ZSC Lions.
