After renovation
Kokomo High School (after expansion)

School and Statistics

Kokomo High School, located in Kokomo, Indiana, is presently a comprehensive high school. In 1983 the Kokomo-Center Township School Corporation decided that Kokomo no longer needed two high schools. Consequently, Haworth High School was closed at the end of the 1983-84 school year. In the fall of 1984, grades 10-12 were placed in the building on the south side of the city, and grades 8-9 were placed in the downtown location of Kokomo High School.

The Board of School Trustees authorized construction of an expansion to the south campus site. With this expansion, the south campus now houses all four grades and the old downtown campus has become Central Middle School. Click here for additional views of our campus.

The high school now shares the campus with the Kokomo Area Career Center, bringing all career areas together under one roof. Vocational students enjoy up-to-date facilities and employ state-of-the-art technology.

Throughout the years, Kokomo High School has had a history of achievements, both athletic and scholastic. For example, since reorganization KHS has had one state championship in baseball (1985), three state champs in golf (1985, 1986, 1988), two state champs in girls basketball (1992, 1993) and one state champ in boys track (1994). Kokomo has had numerous individual state champs over the years, far too many to begin mentioning here. If you have time, visit our “Champions from the Past page”.
