CSE

Bill Stapleton

Bill founded CSE in 1998 and has represented Lance Armstrong in all commercial matters since 1995. Beyond Armstrong, CSE has launched successful enterprises such as the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Lollapalooza, the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team, C3 Presents, and C3 Management. C3 Presents now manages the ACL Festival and Lollapalooza with Bill and CSE remaining as founding partners in that business. C3 Management directs the careers of many artists including Blues Traveler, Jack Ingram, Ben Kweller and Robert Earl Keen.

In Bill's work with Lance Armstrong he has built a world-class brand which spawned the LIVESTRONG brand and movement. Their work together has included numerous Fortune 500 endorsement deals and advertising campaigns with companies such as Nike, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Subaru, Coca Cola, among others. Lance has also published two New York Times bestsellers under Bill's watch (It's Not About the Bike and Every Second Counts). Bill has also negotiated new endorsement contracts for Lance that include significant equity components and board memberships such as Demand Media and FRS Healthy Energy.

Today, CSE is an integrated marketing and investment company with Lance as a key partner. Bill acts as CMO for the LIVESTRONG brand on behalf of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, serves on the boards of Stubb's (the club destination for live music in Austin) and FRS, and continues to represent Lance in all aspects of his business.

Bill was a member of the 1988 United States Olympic Swimming Team (200 Individual Medley), a US Champion, an NCAA All-American at the University of Texas, and a double Gold Medalist at the 1987 Pan American Games. He was the Vice President of the US Olympic Committee and holds a BA, MBA and JD all from UT-Austin.
