Randolph AFB, located between IH-35 and
I-10, is part of the San Antonio Metrocom. Just northeast of San Antonio, Randolph houses
several headquarters including Air Education &
Training Command, Air Force Personnel Center, Air Force Headquarters Recruiting Services, and the Nineteenth Air Force (19AF). Randolph
is one of the few bases in the Air Force that does instructor pilot training. Historic and
beautiful, Randolph AFB truly is the "Showplace of the Air Force".

San Antonio, Texas, is the place to be. The cultural diversity of the city offers something for everyone. Home to five major military installations (Randolph AFB, Lackland AFB, Brooks AFB, Kelly AFB, and Fort Sam Houston), San Antonio is well accustomed to the military. One of San Antonio's biggest attractions is the Alamo, located downtown on the Riverwalk. There you will also find the Rivercenter Mall, Imax Theatres, Hard Rock Cafe, and many other shops, restaurants, and clubs. The historic Alamo is one of the many Spanish Colonial Missions here in San Antonio. Regardless of who you are, San Antonio offers something for everyone. If shopping is your bag, ten major malls and hundreds of specialty shops and exclusive stores can be found either in town or just a short drive away. If you're into sports, the NBA's San Antonio Spurs can be found here, as well as Auto Racing, Minor League Baseball, Ice Hockey, Polo, Soccer, Tennis, Fishing, and Golf, to name a few. For those hot summer days, you might want to check out Six Flags Fiesta Texas or sit in the water park at Sea World. If you're looking for educational opportunities, San Antonio is the home of many. All in all, San Antonio is a great place full of culture, history, and plenty to do. |
