Members of the Rotary Club of Kampala Central, Uganda, draw clean water from one of four boreholes serving the village of Nanvunnano. Previously, villagers had to walk more than three kilometers (two miles) to find water and that water was contaminated. The Rotary Clubs of Warwick Avon, England, and Kampala Central each raised U.S.$4,585 equaled by a $9,170 Matching Grant from The Rotary Foundation to fund the project, which also included installing a rainwater-catch system.
