Welcome to the home page of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. With over 7,000 members, the Society is the largest organization of social and personality psychologists in the world.
The Society promotes scientific research in personality and social psychology by publishing scientific journals, organizing an annual conference, sponsoring activities that foster professional development among students and faculty, and maintaining close ties with science advocacy offices in the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences. SPSP is committed to increasing diversity within the field and welcomes members of underrepresented groups as well as those who bring diverse life experience and perspectives to the science of personality and social psychology. Such diversity enriches research, teaching, and advising, and better prepares the field for a world in which globalization, multiculturalism, and diversity play a central role in human behavior. In addition to our current journals focusing on the publication of regular research articles (PSPB) and review and theory papers (PSPR), SPSP, in collaboration with a number of other societies representing personality and social psychology internationally, recently launched a new short reports journal, Social Psychology and Personality Science.
