The Scandinavian Transport Centre in Køge, is one of Denmark’s fastest growing business parks. Good motorway and rail connections along with harbour and support facilities have led to a thriving transport centre, with many large companies represented, and a busy harbour with increasing goods and passenger turnover – and all in just a few years. In a short time, the Scandinavian Transport Centre has grown to become one of the largest combined business and transport parks servicing Zealand and Greater Copenhagen (130 hectares and growing).
STC is divided into two parts: the transport centre, and a large business park allocated to various types of business. Road access is excellent, and the nearby motorway, rail system and Køge Harbour make for ideal logistics. The transport centre primarily services the transport industry, and includes facilities such as a filling station, cafeteria, service and repair amenities, vehicle wash, accommodation, and a fenced car park with CCTV surveillance.
Some sites in the business park are still vacant, and construction projects range in scope from 1000 euros to very large sums. The presence of companies such as Netto, OK, NCC, Nyscan, DBK and the LMG Group indicates a vote of confidence in STC as a serious working partner – and more are on the way. In addition to the transport centre, Scandinavian Transport Centre also operates Køge Harbour. This key Danish harbour is often called the “gateway to the East” due to its ideal location for servicing the Baltic region.
