Curriculum
The curriculum offered at S.C. Dennis Elementary School has been aligned with the Ohio Proficiency outcomes at all levels third through fifth grade. There is a wide range of programs offered at S.C. Dennis School to meet the individual needs of each student such as; Proficiency Intervention, Title I, or the OhioReads tutoring project. All of these programs focus on vocabulary development, phonemic awareness, and comprehension. The building also has two-cross categorical special education classrooms.

Special Activities
The Green Thumb Club is an active ecology club for fifth grade students. The Green Thumb Club participates in a variety of recycling and beautification projects throughout the school. Students in this club also help build public awareness of ecological issues by participating in poster and essay contests sponsored by the Jefferson County Recycling and Liter prevention.

Destination Imagination is a creative problem solving educational program for students, offering challenges that stress teamwork, spontaneous problem solving and learning in a group setting.

Building Location/History
S.C. Dennis School was built in 1956. The building is located in the south end of Toronto on Dennis Way. S.C. Dennis School is equipped with fourteen academic classrooms, a library, and a gymnasium. Students attending S.C. Dennis School enjoy a technology-rich environment. The building has a state-of-the-art computer lab with thirty stations, as well as, 47 computers that are stationed in classrooms throughout the school.
