Mayor Douglas H. Palmer begins demolition at the launch of Cooper's Crossing, the first of two key Westrum projects for downtown Trenton. The Mayor's key point:
“Cooper's Crossing is a wonderful location for market-rate housing. Our city is an emerging market. This is just one component of the housing coming to the South Ward and to the city at large. When you tie this project to the renovated Trenton Train Station and light rail, take into account the downtown master plan, and factor in how families want to live near where they work – especially with gas prices the way they are today – the improvements in savings and quality of life are huge. People can commute from our city without having to get in a car. In fact, I have a suggestion for a highway sign in Trenton: ‘If you lived here, you’d be home by now.’ ” > Photo by Rutgers U.
