Department of Computer Systems
The department was established in 1969 under
the name of Department of Computer Engineering. Its current name was given
in 1993.
The department staff numbers 33 lecturers /5
professors, 14 associate professors, 11 assistant professors/ and 5 supporting
staff.
Scientific degree holders are 26 members, 5 of
them Doctors of Science. The depart-ment has provided scientific guidance
to 86 Ph.D. students .
Currently the department reads 47 courses. Its
members have authored or co-authored 24 university coursebooks, and 20
monographs.
Department of Programming and Computer Systems
Applications
The department was established in 1984. Since
then it has been reading all the com-puter courses for the major faculties
of TU.
The department staff numbers 28 lecturers /13
associate professors, 15 assistant pro-fessors/ and 1 supporting staff.
Scientific degree holders are 18 members. The
department has provided scientific guidance to 6 Ph.D. students .
Currently the department reads 31 courses. Its
members have authored or co-authored 14 university coursebooks and monographs.
R&D Laboratory on Microprocessors and Microcomputers
The Laboratory was set up in 1980 as a training
laboratory at the then existing Faculty of Radio Electronics. It joined
the Faculty of Computer Systems and Control in 1989. Its staff numbers
10 people, 7 of them assistant professors. The laboratory provides training
in 6 courses.
R&D laboratory on Local Area Networks
The Laboratory was set up in 1984 as a training
and research laboratory at the then existing Faculty of Radio Electronics.
In 1989 it was incorporated in the structure of the Faculty of Computer
Systems and Control. It is staffed by 2 assistant professors and provides
training in 2 university courses and 4 post-graduate courses.
