(Updated 11 May 2008) The race has filled up and we have closed registration. Sorry to those that were thinking of racing this year but I took the first 40 people that registered and sent in their applications.

(Updated 8 May 2008) The Triple IRON Triathlon is closed for signups. I have 20 athletes signed up for the race and we can't take any more. If you were planning on racing and had not gotten up with me yet, I am sorry but this is necessary so we don't cause ourselves problems on the course related to safety and the services we provide over the weekend. The Double IRON is still open and I have a few more slots left for that one before I have to close that out as well. We have set a limit of 40 athletes total racing.

(Updated 1 May 2008) As you can see from the Athletes page, we have quite a few who have emailed or called me to say they either will be racing or want to race. I have about 17 Triple IRON athletes that have either paid or firmly committed to me they will be racing, I have about 14 Double IRON athletes that have done the same. So we are close to filling up with the Triples. We should be filled up and the race closed for new entrants by race date in October.

(Updated 1 March 2008) For the first time this year we are setting a limit on the number of athletes in each race to 20, for a maximum of 40 athletes on the course. The Double IRON triathlon is a IUTA (International Ultra Triathlon Association) sanctioned race and we are holding seven spots for athletes chasing the IUTA points series, as determined by the IUTA Board. The first 20 to register in each race will get a spot. Both events are also sanctioned by USAT.

Our venue at Lake Anna State Park is a great place to race, however to keep everyone safe we need to limit the number of racers. We had 37 athletes compete last year, up from mid 20's the past couple of years. The weather was great, which brought out more vehicles pulling boats and jet skis than in past years. That and the services provided to the athletes is the reason we need to limit how many we can have registered.
