The Faculty of Humanities of the University of Vaasa has about 1180 students and a staff of about 70 teachers and researchers. The principal aim of the Faculty is to train language and communication experts for professional tasks which demand good knowledge and command of language. The areas of expertise of the Faculty are multilingualism, LSP research and crosscultural communication as well as multimedia and data-oriented communication and research, and training connected with these.
The Faculty of Humanities is also responsible for language teaching in all disciplines. Here the endeavour is to utilize the expertise available in the Faculty for teaching LSP, crosscultural communication and multilingualism.
