   Zentralblatt MATH - Database

Zentralblatt MATH is the world's most complete and longest running abstracting and reviewing service in pure and applied mathematics. The Zentralblatt MATH Database contains more than 2.0 million entries drawn from more than 2300 serials and journals and covers the period from 1868 - present by the recent integration of the Jahrbuch database (JFM).
The entries are classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification Scheme (MSC 2000).

Subject coverage:

Pure mathematics (e.g. algebra, logic, topology, geometry, analysis) , probability theory, statistics, mathematical physics, classical, solid and fluid mechanics, numerical mathematics, mathematical programming, theoretical computer science and automata theory, systems theory, control, operations research, economics, information and communication, circuits, coding, cryptography, applications in biology, chemistry, sociology, psychology.

Access is possible either via the EMIS-server or via several mirror-sites.

News:

Joint offer of Zentralblatt MATH and Jahrbuch since September 15th, 2003.
Zentralblatt MATH has fully integrated the digitized Zentralblatt MATH Jahrbuch data covering the period 1868 - 1942. The data of the Jahrbuch über die Fortschritte der Mathematik (JFM) has been re-keyboarded, re-edited with comments, title translations and MSC classifications within the ERAM project.
The project has been sponsored by DFG and project partners are SUB Göttingen (Prof. Mittler) and TU Berlin supported by Zentralblatt MATH (FIZ-Karlsruhe).
JFM contains approximately 200.000 entries that have now been added to the Zentralblatt MATH database providing a worldwide unique access to the mathematical literature published since 1868.

Zentralblatt MATH has realeased a new version of the reviewer service section on 15th August 2003.
New features include online preview of review texts and links to the literature under review. Any reviewer of Zentralblatt MATH is invited to try the new version and possibly send feedback.

Zentralblatt MATH has released a new version of the Zentralblatt MATH user interface and retrieval software on 14th September 2001.
We invite you to try this new version, and possibly send feedback (e-mail address for feedback appears on top of each of the pages). This work is part of the LIMES project. It is the first project result that is publicly available.

LIMES - Large Infrastructures in European Mathematics FIZ Karlsruhe / Zentralblatt is the leading partner in the LIMES project. The objective of the project is to upgrade the existing database Zentralblatt-MATH into a European based world class database for mathematics (pure and applied) by a process of technical improvement and wide Europeanisation.
- LIMES is a project cofunded by the European Commission in the Access to Research Infrastructures sector (Fifth Framework Programme).
